Upcoming Appraisal Day & Gold Buying Event on 10/27

We are going to be doing an appraisal day and gold buying event this coming Saturday as a fundraiser at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Saratoga Springs. These are always fun events because you never know what is going to walk in the door; we often see amazing things. It’s kind of like Antiques Roadshow—people line up curious and hopeful that that special thing passed down and cherished through the years by the family is a rare and wondrously valuable masterpiece or collectible. Of course this is often not the case, but sometimes … lightning strikes!

Sometimes people do have a sense of value and are interested to see if a piece is still in demand or has held its value. Very often, with the significant changes in the marketplace over the past 10 to 15 years, objects are not worth what they once were. Other people are just curious about something that’s been around the house for generations. I particularly like it when we are able to pleasantly surprise and shock someone who really isn’t desperate for a big payoff, they just were out for a fun day and thought, “What the heck, let’s see what this knickknack is.”

For this event also we’re doing a gold buying event, also as a fundraiser for the church. We will be buying broken, out-of-fashion (or relationship!) or unused jewelry, coins and sterling silver. We will be paying the highest price you would get in the area and the proceeds will all be going to a good cause. We will never melt down or destroy a piece of exceptional design or craftsmanship and if a piece can be saved and sold for more than just the metal value, we will pay you more also!
If you can use a little extra cash or have something sitting around that you are curious about, come on over this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at:
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation
624 North Broadway
Saratoga Springs, NY 12866

We look forward to seeing you there!
